People appreciate the easy takeaway service and quick preparation time, ensuring that no matter how busy the lunch hour gets, they can still enjoy a delicious fish and chips.
While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, some patrons mention the chips being slightly greasier than they prefer. This could be an issue for those seeking a lighter side dish to accompany their fish. Other diners have occasionally reported inconsistency in the fish being served, but it's important to note that the management is responsive; if there’s an issue, they swap items without hesitation, ensuring customer satisfaction.
The chippy is primarily takeaway-focused, which may not appeal to those looking for a more traditional dining experience with table service. Some customers also note that on busy days, there can be a queue, which could be a deterrent for those in a hurry. Nonetheless, for fish and chips enthusiasts, the overall experience still outweighs these minor inconveniences.
Incredibly good value. I just went for the mini fish and chips, but it was in fact a very generous. Chips are on the greasier side that I'm used to but can't complain 😊
Superb fish and chips, huge portion 'mini' enough to feed 2 people, great value Friendly staff highly recommended
Southwell fish and chips called in driving through. This is a corking little chippy run by a very nice Chinese couple . It's takeaway away only . I ordered cod, and chips the fish was cooked while waiting . Ten out of ten for a superb meal 👌. The fish was succulent. The batter light is crisp and is none greasy. Next time I'm in this area, I will definitely call in .👍
We had two cod’s, large chips, mushy peas and a curry sauce. It was absolutely delicious. I’ve never had anything like it. The batter I could just eat a plate of alone. Prices are reasonable too. 10/10
Excellent fish and chips. Come here a lot and been disappointed just the once. I pointed out my fish was dry and they swapped for another. That was a few years ago, and been pretty much perfect ever since. The Large Chips portion serves 4 or us!
Just had a lovely takeaway. It was delicious! The curry sauce was amazing! Would definitely recommend.
The fish & chips from here are amazing. A beautiful light crisp batter topped with salt & vinegar that you can actually tatse makes the trip here worth every mile. Service is friendly and we never seem to be waiting or waiting long for a fish to be cooked. Top quality I'd highly recommend.
